Shining through, Dicky Beach

Dicky Beach, Caloundra

The wreck of the SS Dicky has laid at rest on this Sunshine Coast beach for so long (120 years), they named the beach after it. The ship was driven ashore in 1893 on its trip from Rockhampton to Brisbane. After years of deterioration through it was deemed too dangerous to beachgoers and was finally removed in 2015. It was a sad day for locals and photographers alike.
