Togetherness

Gentoo penguins, Antarctica

A pair of Gentoo Penguins appear to be holding hands (make that flippers) in the vast white wilderness of Antarctica. Penguins spread their flippers as a means to cool down on a hot day. Because the feathers covering their body are waterproof, it helps them retain heat. However the only way to release heat is through their flippers, where their feathers are not waterproof.
