Sydney Harbour, NSW
An epic golden sunset over Sydney Harbour as a storm front splits the sky in two. After enduring several drenchings from passing rain storms, my patience was rewarded as the sun finally broke free of the clouds in the west. The resulting sunset bathed the city in a last gasp of brilliant yellow light, whilst also painting the edge of the storm clouds in warm sunshine. In all my years of photographing Sydney Harbour, this was the most spectacular (and challenging) conditions I have ever witnessed. The resulting image incredibly captures the contrast of two weather events in one frame, simultaneously representing sunshine and rain, punctuated by a heart of gold.
